Film crew

A film crew is a group of people hired by a film company for the purpose of
producing a film or motion picture. Crew are distinguished from cast, the
actors who appear in front of the camera.

Production & general:
These crew members keep the production orderly.

   * Film director
        o Guild: D.G.A. Directors Guild of America
   * Assistant director

   * Line producer
   * Floor manager
   * Stage manager
   * Script supervisor (in older terms script girl)

Camera and Lighting:

   * Cinematographer or director of photography

          British Society of Cinematographers
   * Camera operator
   * Gaffer or chief electrician
   * Best boy
   * Light technician

Production sound:

   * Recording mixer
   * Boom operator

Postproduction - picture:

   * Film editor
        o Guilds: A.C.E. American Cinema Editors
   * Chyron Operator - Creates titles and/or text graphics
     (Chryon is a brand name for a character generator)

Postproduction - sound:
In the traditional Hollywood system:

   * Dialogue editor
   * Sound effects editor

Common:
