Recreational therapy
Recreational therapy refers to the prescribed use of recreational and other activities as treatment interventions to improve the functional living competence of persons with physical, mental, emotional and/or social disadvantages. Recreational therapy seeks to restore a patient's ability to function in all areas of life. Recreational therapy treatment goals are likely to focus upon enhancing a client's ability to communicate, express personal values, solve problems, manage anger, reduce stress, improve motor functioning and coordination, stimulate the senses, and achieve a balanced lifestyle as well as to find fulfillment during time away from work.
