Thomas Edison: Kinetoscope
Kinetoscope
A kinetoscope is a device that gives an impression of movement via an endless loop of film moved continuously over a light source with a fast shutter and is the precursor of the modern motion picture projector. On May 20, 1891 the first public display of Thomas Alva Edison's prototype kinetoscope was shown at Edison's Laboratory for a convention of the National Federation of Women's Clubs.
